NCRA Sprint Car Schedule for 2010 Released
Midwest City, Oklahoma -
Fourteen races in two states await the 21st
consecutive season for the O’Reilly/NCRA sprint car
series with a couple of venues hosting the tour for the
first time in several years, one of those tracks the
first time for the 360 sprint car division.
The season will get under way on
Sunday night, May 31, at the home track of NCRA, 81
Speedway in Park City, Kansas.
Roughly two weeks later it is on to
the beautiful Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City,
Kansas on Friday and Saturday night, June 11-12. It will
be a combined event with the World of Outlaw sprint car
division. More information on this big weekend is
forthcoming.
Saturday night, June 19, will see
Thunder Hill Speedway in Mayetta, Kansas host their
first ever NCRA 360 sprint car sanctioned race with new
owners Dave and Mike Conkwright now at the helm of the
high banked facility. The last sanctioned NCRA sprint
car race was back on July 2 when the track hosted an
outlaw sprint car event. The tour then heads to 81
Speedway to close out the weekend.
The Grand Daddy of them all is next
on the schedule with two big nights of the prestigious
Hutchinson Grand Nationals in Hutchinson, Kansas on
Friday and Saturday night, July 2-3.
Dodge City Raceway Park will host
the division one last time in 2010 on Saturday night,
July 17 while two weeks later on July 31 it is back at
81 Speedway.
August 21 will be the tours annual
trip to Mid-Nebraska Speedway in Doniphan, Nebraska for
a Saturday night showdown.
Labor Day weekend three dates
scheduled with the first two nights being listed as
“tentative.” It all begins on Friday night, September 3
at RPM Speedway in Hays, Kansas followed by a tentative
stop at Great American Speedway in Jetmore, Kansas. The
Belleville High Banks in Kansas will close out the Labor
Day weekend for the sprinters on Sunday night, September
3.
Then on Saturday night, October 16
the season will come to a close at 81 Speedway where, as
has been the case the past three years, the battle for
the point’s championship has been decided. With a couple
of new drivers already making their plans on competing
for the division title, it could be yet another tight
point’s battle throughout the season on the
O’Reilly/NCRA sprint car tour.
A total of sixty-four races in six
states are slated for all five divisions combined for
the 40th anniversary season of the O’Reilly
