Kaanta Outruns Goldsmith for NCRA Late Model Win at Eagle Raceway

EAGLE, Neb. (July 3, 2008) -  John Kaanta outran a hard charging Bryant Goldsmith to win the O'Reilly NCRA Presented by ICM/Ethanol Late Model Series A Main Thursday at Eagle Raceway.
Goldsmith started outside front row next to Kaanta, but it was Kaanta driving into the early lead with Goldsmith following in second. It did not take long before Kaanta got caught up in lapped traffic and Goldsmith was keeping pace.
With ten laps remaining Kaanta cleared lapped traffic and Goldsmith moved up on Kaanta's rear bumper before a yellow flag slowed the race with six laps remaining. Following the restart Kaanta resumed his race-leading pace to the checkered. Goldsmith saw his hopes for a first career NCRA victory come to an end as he followed Kaanta across the line in second. Kyle Berck increased his NCRA points lead slightly with a third place finish, Eric Pember finished fourth and Chad Simpson was fifth.
