Race Shop Burns Down, Stephens' Modified Destroyed

PARK CITY, Kan. (July 18, 2007) - The race shop of O’Reilly NCRA Modified Series veteran Greg Stephens, of Wichita, Kan., burned to the ground July 17. He was transferring gas from one container to another when an apparent spark ignited the fuel.

No one was injured in the blaze, which was contained to the race shop and did not spread to Greg’s home. The fire completely destroyed the #15 modified he competes on the NCRA Modified Series.

Currently third in the NCRA standings, Stephens will still race in a series event this weekend. He is borrowing a car from another driver as he competes in the 51st Annual Hutchinson (Kan.) Grand National Auto Races, July 19-21.
